Hearing that their tomato beef noodles have an especially rich tomato flavor, and not knowing what to have for dinner, I decided to try Siping Street Beef Noodles. The result was amazing—I fell in love at first bite! Now this has become one of the restaurants I plan to revisit.

After arriving at Siping Street, you can spot the eye-catching, nostalgic sign of "Siping Street Tomato Beef Noodles" from afar. The two large, cute tomato illustrations make it clear this place serves tomato-based dishes, while the "Established 1991" text below highlights its veteran status—over thirty years already! The sign also proudly states it's a popular noodle shop featured in Japan.

Stepping inside, you're greeted by a large poster of signature dishes on the wall. Though the decor isn't flashy, the space is clean and bright, with photos of various dishes displayed on the walls—every item looks delicious.

The dining environment follows the style of traditional Taiwanese eateries, with square tables, round stools, and efficient use of space. Whether dining alone for a quick meal or visiting with friends, you'll find a comfortable spot here.

Before the main course arrives, don't miss their variety of tempting side dishes! The lineup of braised items and cold appetizers looks irresistible at first glance.

From braised tofu and seaweed strips to cold eggplant salad, each one is a perfect pairing—great for whetting the appetite and cutting richness. Pairing beef noodles with a side dish makes for an incredibly satisfying meal.

Hanging in the shop is a wooden plaque reading "Home of Knife-Shaved Noodles," another major highlight!

Voila! The much-anticipated tomato beef noodles have arrived! The broth has an inviting orange-red hue—I wondered if it might be spicy beef oil? But one sip revealed a wonderfully rich tomato soup. Amazing!! This is exactly the broth flavor I love!

Lifting a piece of beef, the thick cut is perfectly stewed—tender yet with a nice chew, carrying a deep beef aroma and the natural sweetness of tomatoes.

The noodles are handmade knife-shaved noodles, each wide and irregularly wavy. They have a springy, resilient texture that makes you want to keep eating one bite after another—the more you chew, the more flavorful they become.

Here's a close-up of the tomato beef noodles! The clarity of the broth, accented by vibrant green bok choy, is visually soothing.

Zhajiang Noodles

Besides the tomato beef noodles, their zhajiang noodles are another must-try dish!
