When traveling to Yilan, you always want to find a shop where you can sit slowly, enjoy desserts, and relax. "Gather 食聚," located in the fields of Yuanshan, has been on my must-visit list for a long time! It was already very famous in Zhuangwei before, and after moving to Yuanshan, its popularity remains super high. This time, I finally arranged a time to visit.
Upon arrival, I was almost turned away by the queue. Not only was the indoor seating full, but there were also many people waiting for takeout. We waited about an hour that day before finally getting a seat.
Gather 食聚 is located beside a rural path in Yilan's Yuanshan Township, surrounded almost entirely by pastoral scenery in a very serene environment. Although it's not in a busy urban area, it's easy to find by car—just set the shop name in your navigation.
The shop doesn't provide parking, but street parking is available nearby. However, with many visitors on holidays, it's best to arrive early. You can combine it with other Yuanshan attractions like Wanglongbi, Orange Country, Vanilla Villa, or Kavalan Whisky Distillery, all within reasonable distance.

Gather 食聚 is a standalone townhouse-style building with a white exterior and large glass windows. The interior has a warm wooden feel, reminiscent of a Korean-style café.
There's also a small garden and walkway outside, surrounded by lush farmland. When we visited, it was the season of vibrant green rice paddies, paired with blue skies and white clouds—truly therapeutic.
Gather 食聚 specializes in handmade desserts, mille-feuille cakes, and drinks, along with hot-pressed toast and quiches. The fruit mille-feuille is almost a must-order at every table and the shop's super popular signature item.
Whether dining in, taking out, or waiting for a seat, queuing is required. Indoor dining has a minimum spend: NT$200 per person (or one drink) for those over 120 cm tall, with a 90-minute dining limit.
We waited nearly an hour that day to get seated! If you don't want to spend time waiting on-site, consider choosing "takeout" and enjoying it as a picnic at a nearby attraction.
Important tip: While waiting, order your cake in advance! Since their cakes are limited daily, don't wait until seated—popular flavors may sell out, and you'll regret it!
Signature Fruit Mille-Feuille $230
The shop's must-try signature! Often praised by netizens as the "Taiwan version of HARBS" fruit mille-feuille.
Fruits vary by season; that day we had grapes, mandarin oranges, dragon fruit, and banana. The mille-feuille layers are very thin and delicate, with non-greasy fresh cream that pairs refreshingly with the sweet-tart fruits. The grape-cream combination was surprisingly perfect, making the whole dessert lighter than expected.
Tiramisu Mille-Feuille $175
Highly recommended for tiramisu lovers. It has a subtle coffee and cocoa aroma, smooth and mild texture without being too sweet. The mille-feuille's moisture level is just right, offering layered depth—completely different from the fruit version.
Blueberry Mountain Tart $160
Blueberry fans will love this! Topped with plenty of blueberries for a distinct sweet-tart flavor, with a slightly crispy tart base. Overall refreshing and not heavy.
Hot Latte $120, Black Tea Au Lait $110
The drinks are also good—the latte has a smooth milky taste, while the black tea au lait has a pronounced tea flavor, pairing perfectly with desserts.
After visiting Gather 食聚, my biggest takeaway is: "It's even more popular than I imagined!" Whether dining in, taking out, or waiting, there's always a queue, and many come specifically for takeout cakes. Popular desserts sell out quickly, so on weekends, arrive early.
Overall, the desserts, ambiance, and pastoral scenery are all excellent. If you're planning a Yilan trip and love sweets, add Gather 食聚 to your itinerary.
