Every time I travel to the Northeast Coast, I always love finding a cafe where I can slow down and sit to enjoy the sea view. This time I visited "Hai Cube" on Ruifang Haibin Road. I was originally drawn to a red brick building by the roadside while driving past, and from afar it looked like an abandoned old house. Little did I know that after walking down the stairs, it would reveal a whole new world!
Before my eyes were the deep blue sea view, the exotic red brick architecture, and a comfortable outdoor dining space. Sitting in the front row of sea views, feeling the sea breeze, sipping a drink, and gazing at the ocean instantly makes you forget the busyness and stress of daily life.
Hai Cube is located beside Haibin Road in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, near the Northeast Coast shoreline. It's not easy to spot while driving by, as from the road you only see part of the red brick exterior, which even has a bit of a ruins vibe. But once you walk down the stairs, the view completely surprises you.
Transportation and Parking Info:
🚘 By Car: Simply navigate to "Hai Cube" to arrive.
It's about a 30-minute drive from Keelung City. From Jiufen Old Street, it's around 15 minutes away, making it perfect for a side trip.

🚌 Public Transport: Take the train to Ruifang Station or Keelung Station, then transfer by bus to "Haibin Road Third Alley Stop" or take a taxi.
Since the location leans toward the coastal area, if traveling with elders or children, driving is recommended for convenience.

Hai Cube's biggest feature is its excellent sea view. The cafe is almost zero distance from the ocean. Sitting in the outdoor area lets you enjoy the blue coastline, which looks like a painting on a nice day.
When I first walked into Hai Cube, what attracted me most was this red brick building full of character. The weathered walls, arched doors and windows, and semi-outdoor design, paired with the green mountain backdrop, create an atmosphere as if you're on the Mediterranean coast.
The red brick walls with arch designs, combined with lush greenery and sea views, make every photo unique. It's also one of the reasons many people come specifically for photos and check-ins.
Tables and chairs face the sea directly. Sitting here for coffee and chats, the vast ocean view is right in front of you, and you can occasionally hear waves crashing on the shore. Watching the sea and sky meet instantly relaxes your mood.
If the weather is cool, outdoor seating is highly recommended. If worried about sun or hot weather, indoor seating is also available.
No matter where you sit, you can feel Hai Cube's unique relaxed atmosphere.
Hai Cube mainly offers drinks like coffee and tea. In addition to beverages, simple meals are available such as thick toast, hot pot, and set meals. Although the menu isn't extensive, the main draw here is the sea view and ambiance.
Minimum spend is NT$150 per person. Even just ordering a drink to enjoy the view easily meets the minimum.
Korean Kimchi Beef Hot Pot $350
Those who enjoy hot pot can try this. The kimchi broth has a slightly sour and spicy flavor, pairing well with the beef for a great appetite. The portion and taste are standard, served with a bowl of rice, leaving you satisfied.
Braised Cuttlefish Set $350
What impressed me most this time was the braised cuttlefish set. The cuttlefish is tender and pairs perfectly with the sauce for a great meal. It's savory with a hint of spice, making it hard to stop eating.
The set comes with rice, soup, and several side dishes, making it quite complete. However, due to some spiciness, those sensitive to heat may want to ask the staff to adjust the spice level.
Chocolate $160
The chocolate drink requested by the kids. It tastes sweet and smooth with moderate sweetness, appealing to both adults and children. Enjoying a drink in the front row of sea views, the leisurely vibe alone is well worth it.
The most charming aspect of Hai Cube isn't the luxurious meals, but how it perfectly presents the best side of the Northeast Coast right before your eyes. Enjoying a meal while admiring the unbeatable sea view and feeling the sea breeze on your face, that slow-living rhythm is truly relaxing.
