Located at the 24.5 km mark on Highway 18 in Chiayi, the Guo Ran Cha Xiang Tourist Area offers diverse designs, from dynamic amusement facilities to static handicraft experiences, as well as local-flavored dining and souvenirs, meeting the needs of all age groups and especially popular with parent-child families.
Admission is NT$50 per person, fully redeemable toward purchases within the park.
Upon entering the Guo Ran Cha Xiang Tourist Area, visitors are greeted by creative photo spots that add plenty of fun to the journey.
One impressive feature is the “Mellow Bus Stop,” featuring a cool sunglass-wearing “Cool Chicken” as the centerpiece, cleverly linking to the park’s star product—Mellow Drop Chicken Essence. This design is full of childlike charm and successfully visualizes the product’s characteristics.
For visitors who enjoy rural farm life, Guo Ran Cha Xiang has specially designed chicken coops where both children and adults can get close to the animals. Guests can participate in the “Egg Collecting Fun” activity, a rare learning opportunity for city kids. Chicken feed is also available on-site for feeding the adorable chicks.
Next to the chicken coops, detailed information about the park’s proud “Mellow Drop Chicken Essence” products is provided, allowing visitors to learn about their health benefits while enjoying the farm experience.
To satisfy children’s love of water play, the park features a splash pool; specific fees and opening hours should be confirmed on-site.
The park also thoughtfully provides various coin-operated game machines, such as air hockey tables, and a variety of children’s rocking rides. To enhance the visit, there is also a small train that requires payment to ride.
The outdoor area also includes play equipment combining slides and swings. In addition, the park offers a DIY classroom with a variety of hands-on workshops, such as making guava jam, crystal stamp printing, and painting bamboo hats. These activities allow visitors to take home unique souvenirs while learning about local culture and engaging in hands-on practice.
Inside the Guo Ran Cha Xiang Tourist Area, “Ju Shi Guang Kitchen” features a bright industrial-style space with large glass windows allowing natural light to pour in. Colorful floral decorations hang from the ceiling, creating a modern yet cozy dining atmosphere.
The menu at Ju Shi Guang Kitchen focuses on clay pot dishes, refined set meals, and pasta, along with children’s meals prepared especially for kids. Among the signature snacks, the locally inspired guava dishes are especially praised for offering a novel taste experience. There are also crispy fried items and various desserts to suit different preferences.
The drinks highlight local Zhongpu guava flavors, including guava fresh milk latte, guava sparkling drink, and guava ice, allowing visitors to enjoy the unique fresh aroma of guava. Coffee lovers can choose from single-origin coffees brewed using the classic siphon method in sun-dried, washed, or honey-processed varieties, showcasing the delicate layers of coffee.
Ju Shi Guang Kitchen’s “Guava Seafood Porridge” comes with three side dishes, one of which is a refreshing cold guava-shred and wood ear salad that leaves a lasting impression and adds a unique flavor dimension to the meal.
The main dish “Guava Seafood Porridge” includes fresh shrimp, clams, scored squid, and small scallops. Although the official FB mentions adding diced pearl guava during cooking, it was difficult to distinctly detect the guava flavor while tasting.
The “Guava Cloud Yogurt Cup” features smooth, mild yogurt at the bottom, layered with rich guava puree, topped with fresh guava cubes, and finished with red dried fruit—offering rich layers that delight both the eyes and the palate. The drink selected was a fruit smoothie with an added charge.
The souvenir section at Guo Ran Cha Xiang mainly features various natural and healthy dried fruits, as well as high-quality teas from the Alishan region such as Alishan Oolong, Alishan Jin Xuan, and the unique Alishan Red Oolong, known for their rich aroma and distinctive flavor. Most products offer tasting samples so visitors can personally experience the excellent taste before purchasing souvenirs and choose the most suitable specialty items for themselves or as gifts for family and friends. There are also guava-extract guava nourishing shampoo and body wash available for trial washing to experience the scent!
